Who it's for / contractors / painting contractors

Websites for painting contractors, built to beat the unlicensed guy on Craigslist with proof instead of price.

Painting is the trade with the most unlicensed competition in the Bay Area, and the homeowner knows it. Your site wins by showing the license, the insurance and thirty finished jobs, in that order.

Fouro Digital builds websites for painting contractors in San Jose and across the Bay Area, including Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Fremont and Gilroy. Painters compete on trust more than any other trade, because the cheap alternative is one phone call away, so the site is built to make the licensed, insured painter look like the obvious choice. I am a one-person studio in San Jose: I design, write and launch every site myself, in English and Spanish, for $2,100 fixed for the eight-page Growth build, with Google setup included. Call or text (408) 620-4106. Esta página en español.

What your customers actually type into Google

I check this against real search results in San Jose before I write a page, because the page has to match the search or it does not show. For painting contractors the pattern is consistent:

The pages a painting contractor website needs, and why each one exists

One page per service, because each service is its own search. A single "Services" page with everything on it ranks for nothing.

Mistakes I fix on painting contractor websites

The honest part about painting contractors and Google

For "painters near me" the map pack and Yelp hold most of page one, and a new site does not change that. The site ranks for the cost searches, for cabinet painting and other specific jobs, for the cities you work, and for your name. It is also what makes the homeowner who got three quotes pick the licensed one. If you are booked solid for the summer already, I will say so on the call.

Your license on the page: CSLB C-33

The C-33 covers painting and decorating, and in a trade where many competitors have no license at all, printing the number is a selling point rather than a formality. Homeowners check the license number on the CSLB site before they call, so it goes in the footer of every page, on the home page and on the contact page, next to the bond and insurance line. If you hold more than one classification, each one is named on the service page it covers. See every California contractor classification I build for.

Cities I build painting contractor websites for

San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Fremont, Gilroy and the rest of the Bay Area. A painter working San Jose, Santa Clara and Campbell gets three short city pages, because "house painters Campbell" is a separate search with a separate map pack. Areas I serve. Related: websites for cabinet and finish carpentry contractors, websites for drywall contractors, websites for stucco and plastering contractors.

What it costs for a painting contractor

Most painting contractors fit the Growth tier at $2,100, fixed. That includes Search Visibility Setup, Spanish pages, and the monthly plan starts after launch. A painter with exterior, interior and cabinet work is an eight-page Growth build. Add drywall repair or pressure washing as separate pages and they are quoted by the page. A single-service painting contractor can fit Starter at $1,500.

A $525 deposit starts it and you see a preview in 24 to 48 hours. See exactly what Growth includes.

Questions painting contractors ask me

Who builds websites for painting contractors in the Bay Area?

Fouro Digital, a one-person web design studio in San Jose, builds websites for painting contractors in San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Fremont, Gilroy and the rest of the Bay Area. Most painting contractors fit the $2,100 Growth build: eight pages, English and Spanish, Google Business Profile and Search Visibility Setup included. Call or text (408) 620-4106.

How much does a website for a painting contractor cost in the Bay Area?

At Fouro, $2,100 fixed for the Growth build, which is what most painting contractors need: home, exterior, interior, cabinets, a gallery, service area, reviews and contact, in English and Spanish. A $525 deposit starts it and you see a preview in 24 to 48 hours. The monthly plan covers hosting, domain, email and updates, with no contract. A single-service painting contractor can fit Starter at $1,500.

Do I really need a price range on a painting site?

It is the single strongest page on a painter site. "Most exteriors in San Jose run $6,000 to $14,000" ranks for the cost search and stops the people who were going to pick the $2,500 guy anyway. You set the numbers; I will not publish one you have not confirmed.

Can the site show my insurance certificate?

It states that you are licensed, bonded and insured next to the C-33 number, and the contact page offers the certificate on request. Posting the actual certificate publicly is usually not a good idea; it has your policy number on it.

How many photos do I need?

Thirty is plenty to start, grouped by exterior, interior and cabinets, with before and after pairs where you have them. Phone photos are fine. I compress and name every one so the page stays fast and the photos show in Google Images.

What about Yelp and Thumbtack?

Keep them if they send work. The site is the thing you own; those are rented. The site links to your profiles so the reviews count both ways.
