Who it's for / contractors / landscaping contractors

Websites for landscaping contractors, built so the yard you finished last month does the selling.

A landscaping customer is buying a picture. They search for the kind of yard they want, look at twenty photos, and call the company whose work looked like it. The site is a gallery with a license number and a phone.

Fouro Digital builds websites for landscaping contractors in San Jose and across the Bay Area, including Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Fremont and Gilroy. A C-27 landscaping website has to separate the maintenance crew from the design-build contractor in the first line, because those are different customers, different searches and very different ticket sizes. I am a one-person studio in San Jose: I design, write and launch every site myself, in English and Spanish, for $2,100 fixed for the eight-page Growth build, with Google setup included. Call or text (408) 620-4106. Esta página en español.

What your customers actually type into Google

I check this against real search results in San Jose before I write a page, because the page has to match the search or it does not show. For landscaping contractors the pattern is consistent:

The pages a landscaping contractor website needs, and why each one exists

One page per service, because each service is its own search. A single "Services" page with everything on it ranks for nothing.

Mistakes I fix on landscaping contractor websites

The honest part about landscaping contractors and Google

For "landscaping near me" the map pack and Yelp own the top of the page, and the maintenance crews with 400 reviews are hard to pass. A design-build landscaper does not need to. The site ranks for drought tolerant, pavers, turf, backyard remodel cost and the other specific searches where the homeowner is comparing portfolios, and that is where the $30,000 jobs come from.

Your license on the page: CSLB C-27

The C-27 covers landscape construction, from grading and irrigation to planting and hardscape, and it is required for any job over $1,000 in labor and materials. Homeowners check the license number on the CSLB site before they call, so it goes in the footer of every page, on the home page and on the contact page, next to the bond and insurance line. If you hold more than one classification, each one is named on the service page it covers. See every California contractor classification I build for.

Cities I build landscaping contractor websites for

San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Fremont, Gilroy and the rest of the Bay Area. A landscaper working Los Gatos, Saratoga and San Jose gets short city pages, because "landscape design Los Gatos" is a different search with a different budget behind it. Areas I serve. Related: websites for concrete contractors, websites for tree service contractors, websites for fencing contractors.

What it costs for a landscaping contractor

Most landscaping contractors fit the Growth tier at $2,100, fixed. That includes Search Visibility Setup, Spanish pages, and the monthly plan starts after launch. A landscaper with design-build, hardscape, turf and irrigation is an eight-page Growth build. A maintenance-only company is usually Starter at $1,500. A single-service landscaping contractor can fit Starter at $1,500.

A $525 deposit starts it and you see a preview in 24 to 48 hours. See exactly what Growth includes.

Questions landscaping contractors ask me

Who builds websites for landscaping contractors in the Bay Area?

Fouro Digital, a one-person web design studio in San Jose, builds websites for landscaping contractors in San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Fremont, Gilroy and the rest of the Bay Area. Most landscaping contractors fit the $2,100 Growth build: eight pages, English and Spanish, Google Business Profile and Search Visibility Setup included. Call or text (408) 620-4106.

How much does a website for a landscaping contractor cost in the Bay Area?

At Fouro, $2,100 fixed for the Growth build, which is what most landscaping contractors need: home, design and install, hardscape, drought tolerant, irrigation, a gallery, reviews and contact, in English and Spanish. A $525 deposit starts it and you see a preview in 24 to 48 hours. The monthly plan covers hosting, domain, email and updates, with no contract. A single-service landscaping contractor can fit Starter at $1,500.

I do both maintenance and installs. One site or two?

One site, with maintenance on its own page and the home page leading with whichever makes you more money. If maintenance is a separate brand with a separate phone, that is two sites and we talk about it on the call.

Can the gallery pull from Instagram?

The photos go on the site itself, compressed and named, because Instagram does not show in Google. The site links to your Instagram so people who want to see more can.

Should I list plant names and brands?

Yes, on the drought tolerant and turf pages. People search for specific turf brands and specific plants, and a page that names them ranks for those searches with almost no competition.

What about Yelp and Thumbtack?

Keep them if they send work. The site is the thing you own; those are rented. The site links to your profiles so the reviews count both ways.
