Do I need a website, or is a Google Business Profile enough?

A Google Business Profile is enough to show up on Google Maps, but most local businesses get more calls with both. The profile gets you found. The website answers the questions that make someone call, like prices, services, photos and the cities you cover. If a profile alone is enough for your business, I will tell you on the first call.

What is a Google Business Profile?

A Google Business Profile is the free listing that shows your business on Google Search and Google Maps, with your hours, phone number, photos and reviews. It is the box people see when they search your name or "plumber near me". You create it and control it at business.google.com. Every Fouro build links your profile to your website, and Starter and up include a full profile setup.

How does a Google Business Profile help my business?

A Google Business Profile puts you on Google Maps and in the local results, where most "near me" searches end. Customers can call, get directions or read your reviews without opening a website. Google says it ranks these listings on relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews are a big part of prominence. I set up your categories, services, hours, photos and service area as part of Business Profile Optimization, $225 alone or included in Starter and up.

What is SEO?

SEO, or search engine optimization, is the work of making your website easy for Google to find, read and show to people searching for what you do. For a local business it mostly means one clear page per service, your city names on the page, a fast site and a Business Profile that matches your website. Nobody can honestly promise you the top spot. Starter and up include the full Search Visibility Setup, and the $199 plan adds a quarterly SEO refresh.

What is AI SEO, or showing up in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI answers?

AI SEO means making your business easy for AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI answers to read, understand and recommend. They rely on the same basics as Google: pages they are allowed to read, clear facts about what you do, where and for how much, structured data, and other sites and reviews that mention you. Nobody can guarantee that an assistant will name you. I let the AI crawlers that answer questions into your site, add structured data and an llms.txt file, and write pages that answer real questions in plain sentences. Read the guide.

How much does a website cost in San Jose?

A small business website in San Jose usually costs about $1,200 to $7,500 at local shops that publish their prices, and $5,000 and up at larger agencies. Fouro Digital's prices are fixed: $975 for one page, $1,500 for five, $2,100 for eight and $3,200 for twelve. Hosting and care is $49 to $199 a month, with no contract. Read the full cost guide.

How long does it take to build a website?

At Fouro Digital, a small business website usually takes one to two weeks, with a first preview 24 to 48 hours after the 25% deposit. A one-page site launches in about a week. The real wait is usually photos and content, so I help you gather them on a 20 minute call.

Do I own my website and domain?

You should, and at Fouro you do: the domain is registered in your name and the code is yours. Hosting and business email run on my accounts and are paid by the monthly plan. If you leave, the domain is transferred to you, the files are handed over, and you have 30 days to move. Before you sign with anyone, ask in writing who owns the domain.

Do I need a Spanish version of my website?

If a good share of your customers speak Spanish, yes, and it should be real Spanish pages, not a translate button. Each language needs its own pages with their own address, so Google can show the Spanish version to people who search in Spanish. At Fouro, Spanish is written by a native speaker and included from the $1,500 Starter up. On the $975 Landing Page it is $150. Read the Spanish website guide.

What is the monthly fee for?

The monthly fee pays for what every website costs each month: hosting, domain renewal, SSL, security and someone to make changes. At Fouro it is $49 for a Landing Page, $149 for Starter and Growth, which adds business email on your domain, content updates and a monthly report, and $199 for Complete, which adds a quarterly SEO refresh and new pages. There is no contract and you can cancel any month.

Can I update my website myself?

Yes, if the site is plain HTML like the ones I build, anyone comfortable editing a file can change it. There is no page builder to learn and no plugins to update. Most of my clients text me the change instead. Hours, prices or a photo go live the same day on the monthly plan.

Will my website work on phones?

It has to, because most local customers find you on a phone. Every Fouro site is hand coded, with no page builder or plugins, so it loads fast on a phone, with your phone number one tap away at the top. You get your Google PageSpeed score in writing with every build.

How do I get more Google reviews?

Ask every happy customer right after the job, and make leaving a review one tap. Text them your Google review link, or hand them a Fouro Tap keychain or stand that opens your review page when they tap it with their phone. Ask for an honest review in their own words, and never pay or offer a discount for one, because Google's rules forbid it. Fouro Tap starts at $25.

What happens if I want to leave?

At Fouro, you can leave any month, with no contract and no cancellation fee. Your domain is transferred to you, the code is handed over, and the site stays up for 30 days while you move. I help with the move. Business email on your domain ends with the plan, so export it first. I remind you.

Why doesn't my business show up on Google?

Usually the website is fine, but Google cannot see it, or cannot tell that your site and your Google listing are the same business. Common causes are pages Google never indexed, a site that loads at more than one address, a Business Profile that does not match the site, and few reviews. Run the free SEO checker to see which one it is, or I can fix them with the $750 Search Visibility Setup.
