Tower Enterprise: a website and online store for a San Jose 3D manufacturer

Tower Enterprise designs and 3D prints its own products in San Jose and sells them directly. The site had to work as a company site and a store at the same time, with room for product lines that are not launched yet.

The job

Tower Enterprise is a parent company with one product line selling today, TE Racing, and two more on the way: collectibles and custom contract printing. Most small manufacturers either build one store for one product or one company page with no way to buy. This needed both.

So the structure is two levels. The company site explains who they are and how they work. Each product line gets its own branded section with its own pages, its own look and its own checkout. Adding the next line means adding a section, not rebuilding the site.

A product line with its own brand

TE Racing makes pit and display stands for 1/10 and 1/8 scale RC cars. Its pages carry their own logo, a racing look and their own navigation, while the breadcrumb keeps them tied to Tower Enterprise.

The overview page answers the two questions a racer has first: which stand fits my cars, and what does it cost. Prices are on the page, not behind a contact form.

A configurator that shows the real stand in your colors

Each stand comes in two scales, 3 base colors and 9 accent colors. Instead of a dropdown and a stock photo, the buyer picks a scale and colors and the product photo updates to that exact combination before they buy.

The price updates with the scale, and the build goes straight to checkout. Every stand is printed to order and ships in 3 to 7 business days, and the page says so right above the buy button.

Checkout that works on a phone

Payments run through Stripe Checkout, so card details are entered on Stripe and never touch the site. Shipping is a flat rate by region, $24 for the West up to $75 for Alaska and Hawaii, added at checkout. Shipping, returns and terms each have their own page.

There is no separate store platform subscription. It is a hand coded site with Stripe behind the buy button, and Stripe charges per sale.

Set up to be found on Google

A store only works if people can find the products. This build included my Search Visibility Setup.

  • Google Search ConsoleVerified, with a sitemap of all 11 public pages submitted and read by Google. This is how we see what people search to find the site and catch problems early.
  • Structured dataMachine-readable details for the store: business type, location, product list with prices, and the FAQ answers.
  • One address per pageEvery page tells Google its one correct address, and the old or duplicate versions redirect to it. No duplicate copies competing with each other.
  • Checkout pages kept out of searchThe cart and thank you pages are hidden from Google on purpose, so only real product and company pages show up in results.
  • Google Business ProfileVerified and managed, with the website linked, so the map listing and the site point to each other.
  • Google AnalyticsInstalled on every page, so the owner can see where visitors come from.

Who this kind of site is for

A small manufacturer or maker that sells a short catalog directly and wants a store that looks like their brand, not a template. For hundreds of products, inventory sync or a point of sale, Shopify is the better fit and I will tell you that up front.
