Thermal Insulation: a website for a San Jose insulation contractor

Ivan has been insulating Bay Area homes and commercial buildings for 19+ years. Before this site, the business had social media and nothing else. Now it has a site that explains the work, proves it with real job photos and makes calling the easy next step.

The job

Insulation is hard to sell online. The bad work is hidden in an attic, and most homeowners have never looked up there. So the site had to do two things: show people what failing insulation actually looks like, and make a licensed contractor easy to check and easy to call.

Every photo on the site comes from Thermal Insulation's own jobs. No stock photography anywhere.

One page per service

Attic insulation, insulation removal, drill and fill blow-in, batts, crawl spaces, spray foam and rigid foam board each get their own page. People search for the specific job, like "attic insulation San Jose" or "insulation removal near me", so each page targets one of those searches.

Every service page opens with an "At a glance" box: what it is best for, the target R-value, materials, typical job length and service area. A homeowner gets the answer in five seconds without reading a wall of text.

An R-value checker people can use from the attic hatch

Most visitors do not know whether their insulation is fine or failing. The checker asks two things: what the insulation looks like and how deep it is. It returns a rough R-value and compares it to the R-38 to R-49 range a Bay Area attic should reach.

It gives an honest answer, including "this is the most common result we see", and then points to an in-person measurement. It gives visitors a reason to stay on the site and a reason to call.

A job gallery you can filter

The gallery is sorted by type of job: removal and cleanup, attic insulation, floors and crawl spaces, walls and remodels, spray foam, drill and fill, and rigid, garage and commercial work. Tap a filter to see only that kind of job, and tap any photo to see it full size.

The removal photos matter most. They show what comes out of an attic before the new insulation goes in, which is the part of the job a customer never sees.

Built for the phone first

Most people looking for an insulation contractor are on their phone. On mobile, a call and estimate bar stays pinned to the bottom of the screen on every page, so calling Ivan is always one tap away.

The site is hand coded with no page builder, so it loads fast on a phone connection.

Set up to be found on Google

A good-looking site that Google cannot read does not get calls. This build included my Search Visibility Setup, the technical work that helps Google find, understand and trust a new site.

  • Google Search ConsoleVerified, with a sitemap of all 10 pages submitted and read by Google. This is how we see what people search to find the site and catch problems early.
  • Structured dataMachine-readable details Google can use: the business type, CSLB license, hours, service area, services and the FAQ answers.
  • One address per pageEvery page tells Google its one correct address, and the old or duplicate versions redirect to it. No duplicate copies competing with each other.
  • IndexNowNew and changed pages are sent to Bing and other engines that support IndexNow right away, instead of waiting to be found.
  • Google AnalyticsInstalled on every page, so the owner can see where visitors come from.

Who this kind of site is for

Any trade where the customer cannot see the problem: insulation, HVAC, roofing, plumbing, pest control. The same pieces apply. Show the real work, explain what to look for, and make the license and phone number impossible to miss.

See websites for contractors, the published prices, or the rest of our work. I do not publish traffic numbers without client permission. Ask on a call and I will show you real Search Console data.
