Apollo Plumbing Services is a family-owned, licensed plumbing company that does everything from leaking toilets to process piping for labs and manufacturers. Apollo already had a website. The job was to rebuild it so both kinds of customer find their side fast, and so Google can read it properly.
A homeowner with a clogged drain and a facilities manager who needs high purity piping for a cleanroom are both Apollo customers, but they want completely different pages. Mixing them means the homeowner wades through industrial jargon and the commercial buyer thinks Apollo only fixes toilets.
So the rebuilt homepage asks one question right away: residential or commercial. Each side has its own page with its own services.
The commercial page covers process piping, high purity piping for labs, cleanrooms, semiconductor and food-grade environments, preventative maintenance programs, commercial water heater systems and code compliance, plus the industries Apollo serves.
That is the work with bigger tickets and repeat contracts, and it now has a page a facilities manager can send to their boss.
The homepage shows photos of Apollo's own jobs and the brands they install and service every day: Kohler, Delta, Moen, American Standard, Fluidmaster, Rheem, Bradford White, InSinkErator and Badger.
On a phone, a call now bar with the number stays pinned to the bottom of the screen, so calling is always one tap away.
A rebuild is the right time to fix how Google sees a site. This rebuild included my Search Visibility Setup.
A business that already has a website, but the site does not match how the business actually makes money. If you serve two very different kinds of customer, they should not have to share one page.
